But I tell you, do not contend with him who wrongs you; but whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.
To him who strikes you on the cheek, offer also the other; and from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your coat also.
See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good, for one another, and for all.
Finally, be all like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, humble, not rendering evil for evil, or reviling for reviling; but instead blessing; because to this were you called, that you may inherit a blessing. For, "He who would love life, and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit.
Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men.
Do not seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, "Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord."
But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back; and your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.
But I tell you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you,
We toil, working with our own hands. When people curse us, we bless. Being persecuted, we endure.
Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head."

Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, "Which way did the Spirit of the LORD go from me to speak to you?" Micaiah said, "Behold, you shall see on that day, when you shall go into an inner room to hide yourself."
David said to Abishai, "Do not destroy him; for who can put forth his hand against the LORD's anointed, and be guiltless?" David said, "As the LORD lives, the LORD will strike him; or his day shall come to die; or he shall go down into battle and perish. The LORD forbid that I should put forth my hand against the LORD's anointed; but now please take the spear that is at his head, and the jar of water, and let us go."
