At once, one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filling it with vinegar, put it on a reed, and gave him to drink. But the rest said: "Let be! Let us see whether Elijah is coming to save him!" And Jesus cried again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit.

Then after he had taken the vinegar, Jesus said, "IT IS FINISHED!" And bowing his head, he yielded up his spirit.
