He made the moon to mark the festivals;
the sun knows when to set.

This is the day the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

They forbid marriage and demand abstinence from foods that God created to be received with gratitude by those who believe and know the truth.

So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above the expanse. And it was so.

You establish the mountains by Your power,
robed with strength.

He is here:
the One who forms the mountains,
creates the wind,
and reveals His thoughts to man,

and strides on the heights of the earth.

I form light and create darkness,

They will be lights in the expanse of the sky to provide light on the earth.” And it was so. God made the two great lights—the greater light to have dominion over the day and the lesser light to have dominion over the night—as well as the stars.

The One who made the Pleiades and Orion,
who turns darkness into dawn
and darkens day into night,
who summons the waters of the sea
and pours them out over the face of the earth—
Yahweh is His name.
