'Adulteress' in the Bible
If a man commits adultery with a married woman—if he commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife—both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death.
For a prostitute’s fee is only a loaf of bread, but an adulteress goes after a precious life.
This is the way of an adulteress:she eats and wipes her mouthand says, “I’ve done nothing wrong.”
The faithful city—what an adulteress she has become! She was once full of justice.Righteousness once dwelt in her—but now, murderers!
Then the Lord said to me, “Go again; show love to a woman who is loved by another man and is an adulteress, just as the Lord loves the Israelites though they turn to other gods and love raisin cakes.”
So then, if she gives herself to another man while her husband is living, she will be called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law. Then, if she gives herself to another man, she is not an adulteress.
