Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.
But sin, taking opportunity through the commandment, produced in me coveting of every kind; for apart from the Law sin is dead.
For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.
But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth. This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing.
He who separates himself seeks his own desire,
He quarrels against all sound wisdom.
idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions,

What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members? You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.
Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,

However, he would not listen to her; since he was stronger than she, he violated her and lay with her.

With colored linens of Egypt.

His sons, however, did not walk in his ways, but turned aside after dishonest gain and took bribes and perverted justice.
“But your eyes and your heart
Are intent only upon your own dishonest gain,
And on shedding innocent blood
And on practicing oppression and extortion.”
“Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses while this house lies desolate?”
who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach for the sake of sordid gain.
Instead, there is gaiety and gladness,
Killing of cattle and slaughtering of sheep,
Eating of meat and drinking of wine:
“Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we may die.”
Do not be with heavy drinkers of wine,
Or with gluttonous eaters of meat;
and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.
For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,read more.

He who loves pleasure will become a poor man;
He who loves wine and oil will not become rich.
For on account of a harlot one is reduced to a loaf of bread,
And an adulteress hunts for the precious life.
For the heavy drinker and the glutton will come to poverty,
And drowsiness will clothe one with rags.
And not many days later, the younger son gathered everything together and went on a journey into a distant country, and there he squandered his estate with loose living. These are matters which have, to be sure, the appearance of wisdom in self-made religion and self-abasement and severe treatment of the body, but are of no value against fleshly indulgence.
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts.
Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age,
For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.
As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance,
so as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.
For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God;
Do not weary yourself to gain wealth,
Cease from your consideration of it.
Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
