'Arise' in the Bible
“Prepare for his sons a place of slaughterBecause of the iniquity of their fathers. They must not arise and take possession of the earthAnd fill the face of the world with cities.”
He has said, “You shall exult no more, O crushed virgin daughter of Sidon.Arise, pass over to Cyprus; even there you will find no rest.”
Yet He also is wise and will bring disasterAnd does not retract His words,But will arise against the house of evildoersAnd against the help of the workers of iniquity.
“Now I will arise,” says the Lord,“Now I will be exalted, now I will be lifted up.
Thus says the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel and its Holy One,To the despised One,To the One abhorred by the nation,To the Servant of rulers,“Kings will see and arise,Princes will also bow down,Because of the Lord who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel who has chosen You.”
Rouse yourself! Rouse yourself! Arise, O Jerusalem,You who have drunk from the Lord’s hand the cup of His anger; The chalice of reeling you have drained to the dregs.
“Arise, shine; for your light has come,And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
