'Bones' in the Bible
Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am pining away;Heal me, O Lord, for my bones are dismayed.
I am poured out like water,And all my bones are out of joint; My heart is like wax;It is melted within me.
All my bones will say, “Lord, who is like You,Who delivers the afflicted from him who is too strong for him,And the afflicted and the needy from him who robs him?”
There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your indignation; There is no health in my bones because of my sin.
As a shattering of my bones, my adversaries revile me,While they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”
Make me to hear joy and gladness,Let the bones which You have broken rejoice.
There they were in great fear where no fear had been; For God scattered the bones of him who encamped against you;You put them to shame, because God had rejected them.
For my days have been consumed in smoke,And my bones have been scorched like a hearth.
Because of the loudness of my groaningMy bones cling to my flesh.
But he clothed himself with cursing as with his garment,And it entered into his body like waterAnd like oil into his bones.
As when one plows and breaks open the earth,Our bones have been scattered at the mouth of Sheol.
