'Bread' in the Bible

Do all the workers of wickedness not know,Who eat up my people as they eat bread,And do not call upon the Lord?

I have been young and now I am old,Yet I have not seen the righteous forsakenOr his descendants begging bread.

Even my close friend in whom I trusted,Who ate my bread,Has lifted up his heel against me.

Have the workers of wickedness no knowledge,Who eat up My people as though they ate breadAnd have not called upon God?

“Behold, He struck the rock so that waters gushed out,And streams were overflowing;Can He give bread also?Will He provide meat for His people?”

Man did eat the bread of angels;He sent them food in abundance.

You have fed them with the bread of tears,And You have made them to drink tears in large measure.

My heart has been smitten like grass and has withered away,Indeed, I forget to eat my bread.

For I have eaten ashes like breadAnd mingled my drink with weeping

And He called for a famine upon the land;He broke the whole staff of bread.

They asked, and He brought quail,And satisfied them with the bread of heaven.

It is vain for you to rise up early,To retire late,To eat the bread of painful labors;For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep.

“I will abundantly bless her provision;I will satisfy her needy with bread.
