'Bridle' in the Bible
‘Because of your raging against Me,And because your arrogance has come up to My ears,Therefore I will put My hook in your nose,And My bridle in your lips,And I will turn you back by the way which you came.
“Because He has loosed His bowstring and afflicted me,They have cast off the bridle before me.
Do not be as the horse or as the mule which have no understanding,Whose trappings include bit and bridle to hold them in check,Otherwise they will not come near to you.
A whip is for the horse, a bridle for the donkey,And a rod for the back of fools.
His breath is like an overflowing torrent,Which reaches to the neck,To shake the nations back and forth in a sieve,And to put in the jaws of the peoples the bridle which leads to ruin.

If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless.
For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body as well.
