'Burns' in the Bible
For wickedness burns like a fire;It consumes briars and thorns; It even sets the thickets of the forest aflameAnd they roll upward in a column of smoke.
Half of it he burns in the fire; over this half he eats meat as he roasts a roast and is satisfied. He also warms himself and says, “Aha! I am warm, I have seen the fire.”
“Behold, they have become like stubble,Fire burns them; They cannot deliver themselves from the power of the flame; There will be no coal to warm byNor a fire to sit before!
“Who say, ‘Keep to yourself, do not come near me,For I am holier than you!’These are smoke in My nostrils,A fire that burns all the day.
“But he who kills an ox is like one who slays a man;He who sacrifices a lamb is like the one who breaks a dog’s neck;He who offers a grain offering is like one who offers swine’s blood; He who burns incense is like the one who blesses an idol.As they have chosen their own ways,And their soul delights in their abominations,
