'Cock crowing' in the Bible

Jesus replied, I tell you for certain, that this night before the time of cock-crowing, thou shalt abjure me thrice.

watch ye therefore (for you don't know when the master of the house will return; whether at evening, or at midnight, or at the cock-crowing, or in the morning)

whereupon the Lord turned about, and look'd upon Peter. then Peter remembred what the Lord had said to him, "before the cock-crowing you shall deny me thrice."
