'Collect' in the Bible

He gathered the priests and Levites and said to them, “Go out to the cities of Judah and collect money from all Israel to repair the house of your God annually, and you shall do the matter quickly.” But the Levites did not act quickly.

“All of them come for violence.Their horde of faces moves forward.They collect captives like sand.

“Will not your creditors rise up suddenly,And those who collect from you awaken?Indeed, you will become plunder for them.

He *said, “Yes.” And when he came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth collect customs or poll-tax, from their sons or from strangers?”

And he said to them, “Collect no more than what you have been ordered to.”

And those indeed of the sons of Levi who receive the priest’s office have commandment in the Law to collect a tenth from the people, that is, from their brethren, although these are descended from Abraham.
