'Companions' in the Bible

She said to her father, “Let this thing be done for me; let me alone two months, that I may go to the mountains and weep because of my virginity, I and my companions.”

Then he said, “Go.” So he sent her away for two months; and she left with her companions, and wept on the mountains because of her virginity.

When they saw him, they brought thirty companions to be with him.

She will be led to the King in embroidered work;The virgins, her companions who follow her,Will be brought to You.

“Tell me, O you whom my soul loves,Where do you pasture your flock,Where do you make it lie down at noon?For why should I be like one who veils herselfBeside the flocks of your companions?”

“O you who sit in the gardens,My companions are listening for your voice—Let me hear it!”

Your rulers are rebelsAnd companions of thieves;Everyone loves a bribeAnd chases after rewards.They do not defend the orphan,Nor does the widow’s plea come before them.

Behold, all his companions will be put to shame, for the craftsmen themselves are mere men. Let them all assemble themselves, let them stand up, let them tremble, let them together be put to shame.
