'Compassion' in the Bible

Remember, O Lord, Your compassion and Your lovingkindnesses,For they have been from of old.

You, O Lord, will not withhold Your compassion from me;Your lovingkindness and Your truth will continually preserve me.

For the choir director. A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.Be gracious to me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness;According to the greatness of Your compassion blot out my transgressions.

Answer me, O Lord, for Your lovingkindness is good;According to the greatness of Your compassion, turn to me,

He will have compassion on the poor and needy,And the lives of the needy he will save.

Has God forgotten to be gracious,Or has He in anger withdrawn His compassion? Selah.

Do not remember the iniquities of our forefathers against us;Let Your compassion come quickly to meet us,For we are brought very low.

You will arise and have compassion on Zion;For it is time to be gracious to her,For the appointed time has come.

Who redeems your life from the pit,Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;

Just as a father has compassion on his children,So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.

He also made them objects of compassionIn the presence of all their captors.

May Your compassion come to me that I may live,For Your law is my delight.

For the Lord will judge His peopleAnd will have compassion on His servants.
