'Designate' in the Bible
designate cities to serve as cities of refuge for you, so that a person who kills someone unintentionally may flee there.
you must select without fail a king whom the Lord your God chooses. From among your fellow citizens you must appoint a king -- you may not designate a foreigner who is not one of your fellow Israelites.
The Lord will designate you as his holy people just as he promised you, if you keep his commandments and obey him.
