'Distress' in the Bible

They said to me, “The remnant there in the province who survived the captivity are in great distress and reproach, and the wall of Jerusalem is broken down and its gates are burned with fire.”

“Therefore You delivered them into the hand of their oppressors who oppressed them,But when they cried to You in the time of their distress,You heard from heaven, and according to Your great compassionYou gave them deliverers who delivered them from the hand of their oppressors.

“Its abundant produce is for the kingsWhom You have set over us because of our sins;They also rule over our bodiesAnd over our cattle as they please,So we are in great distress.
