'Excel' in the Bible

Turbulent as water, you will no longer excel,because you got into your father’s bedand you defiled it—he got into my bed.

The blessings of your father excelthe blessings of my ancestorsand the bounty of the eternal hills.May they rest on the head of Joseph,on the crown of the prince of his brothers.

Are you a king because you excel in cedar?Didn’t your father eat and drinkand administer justice and righteousness?Then it went well with him.

So also you—since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, seek to excel in building up the church.

Now as you excel in everything—faith, speech, knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love for us—excel also in this grace.

And God is able to make every grace overflow to you, so that in every way, always having everything you need, you may excel in every good work.
