'Face' in the Bible

He says to himself, “God has forgotten;He has hidden His face; He will never see it.”

For the Lord is righteous, He loves righteousness;The upright will behold His face.

For the choir director. A Psalm of David.How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever?How long will You hide Your face from me?

As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness;I will be satisfied with Your likeness when I awake.

For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;Nor has He hidden His face from him;But when he cried to Him for help, He heard.

This is the generation of those who seek Him,Who seek Your face—even Jacob. Selah.

When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You,“Your face, O Lord, I shall seek.”

Do not hide Your face from me,Do not turn Your servant away in anger;You have been my help;Do not abandon me nor forsake me,O God of my salvation!

O Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong;You hid Your face, I was dismayed.

Make Your face to shine upon Your servant;Save me in Your lovingkindness.

The face of the Lord is against evildoers,To cut off the memory of them from the earth.

Why do You hide Your faceAnd forget our affliction and our oppression?

Hide Your face from my sinsAnd blot out all my iniquities.

Because for Your sake I have borne reproach;Dishonor has covered my face.

And do not hide Your face from Your servant,For I am in distress; answer me quickly.

Behold our shield, O God,And look upon the face of Your anointed.

O Lord, why do You reject my soul?Why do You hide Your face from me?

Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my distress;Incline Your ear to me;In the day when I call answer me quickly.

And wine which makes man’s heart glad,So that he may make his face glisten with oil,And food which sustains man’s heart.

You hide Your face, they are dismayed;You take away their spirit, they expireAnd return to their dust.

You send forth Your Spirit, they are created;And You renew the face of the ground.

Seek the Lord and His strength;Seek His face continually.

Make Your face shine upon Your servant,And teach me Your statutes.
