'Faithful' in the Bible
The faithful city—what an adulteress she has become!She was once full of justice.Righteousness once dwelt in her—but now, murderers!
I will restore your judges to what they once were,and your advisers to their former state.Afterward you will be called the Righteous City,a Faithful City.”
Then in the tent of Davida throne will be established by faithful love.A judge who seeks what is rightand is quick to execute justicewill sit on the throne forever.
Open the gatesso a righteous nation can come in—one that remains faithful.
This is what the Lord,the Redeemer of Israel, his Holy One, saysto one who is despised,to one abhorred by people,to a servant of rulers:“Kings will see and stand up,and princes will bow down,because of the Lord, who is faithful,the Holy One of Israel—and He has chosen you.”
The righteous one perishes,and no one takes it to heart;faithful men are swept away,with no one realizingthat the righteous one is swept awayfrom the presence of evil.
I will make known the Lord’s faithful loveand the Lord’s praiseworthy acts,because of all the Lord has done for us—even the many good thingsHe has done for the house of Israeland has done for them based on His compassionand the abundance of His faithful love.
