'Famished' in the Bible
When Jacob had cooked stew, Esau came in from the field and he was famished;
and Esau said to Jacob, “Please let me have a swallow of that red stuff there, for I am famished.” Therefore his name was called Edom.
So when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried out to Pharaoh for bread; and Pharaoh said to all the Egyptians, “Go to Joseph; whatever he says to you, you shall do.”
“His strength is famished,And calamity is ready at his side.
A sated man loathes honey,But to a famished man any bitter thing is sweet.
Therefore My people go into exile for their lack of knowledge;And their honorable men are famished,And their multitude is parched with thirst.
They will pass through the land hard-pressed and famished, and it will turn out that when they are hungry, they will be enraged and curse their king and their God as they face upward.
