'Fortify' in the Bible

Then the prophet approached the king of Israel and said to him, “Go, strengthen yourself and observe and see what you have to do; for at the first of next year the king of Aram (Syria) will come up against you.”

Then you counted the houses of JerusalemAnd you tore down the houses [to get materials] to fortify the city wall [by extending it].

“Though Babylon should ascend to the heavens,And though she should fortify her lofty stronghold,Yet destroyers will come on her from Me,” says the Lord.

The one who scatters has come up against you [Nineveh].Man the fortress and ramparts, watch the road;Strengthen your back [prepare for battle], summon all your strength.
