'Gardens' in the Bible
“Like valleys that stretch out,Like gardens beside the river,Like aloes planted by the Lord,Like cedars beside the waters.
I made gardens and parks for myself and I planted in them all kinds of fruit trees;
“My beloved has gone down to his garden,To the beds of balsam,To pasture his flock in the gardensAnd gather lilies.
“O you who sit in the gardens,My companions are listening for your voice—Let me hear it!”
Surely you will be ashamed of the oaks which you have desired,And you will be embarrassed at the gardens which you have chosen.
A people who continually provoke Me to My face,Offering sacrifices in gardens and burning incense on bricks;
“Those who sanctify and purify themselves to go to the gardens,Following one in the center,Who eat swine’s flesh, detestable things and mice,Will come to an end altogether,” declares the Lord.
‘Build houses and live in them; and plant gardens and eat their produce.
For he has sent to us in Babylon, saying, ‘The exile will be long; build houses and live in them and plant gardens and eat their produce.’”’”
“I smote you with scorching wind and mildew;And the caterpillar was devouringYour many gardens and vineyards, fig trees and olive trees;Yet you have not returned to Me,” declares the Lord.
“Also I will restore the captivity of My people Israel,And they will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them;They will also plant vineyards and drink their wine,And make gardens and eat their fruit.
