'Gates' in the Bible
And her gates shall lament and mourn, and she shall be banished; she shall sit upon the ground.
Open [the] gates {so that} [the] righteous nation who keeps faithfulness may enter!
I was the one who said, "I must go in the quiet of my days; I am summoned through the gates of Sheol [for] the rest of my years."
Thus says Yahweh to his anointed one, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have grasped to subjugate nations before him, and I uncover [the] loins of kings to open doors before him, and [the] gates shall not be shut:
And I will {make} your battlements of ruby, and your gates of stones of beryl, and all your wall of precious stones.
And your gates shall continually be open, day and night they shall not be shut, to bring you [the] wealth of nations, and their kings shall be led.
Violence shall no longer be heard in your land; devastation or destruction on your borders. And you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates, Praise.
Pass through, pass through the gates! Make the way clear {for} the people! Pile up, pile up the highway; clear [it] of stones! Lift up an ensign over the peoples!
