'Genealogies' in the Bible

And these [are] the names of the sons of Levi according to their genealogies: Gershon and Kohath and Merari, and the years of the life of Levi [were] {one hundred and thirty-seven years}.

And the sons of Merari [are] Mahli and Mushi. These [are] clans of the Levites according to their genealogies.

These [are] the genealogies of Aaron and Moses {at the time} when Yahweh spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai.

All of them were chosen as gatekeepers at the entrances, two hundred and twelve. They were enrolled by genealogies in their villages. They [were] established [by] David and Samuel the seer on account of their faithfulness.

These [were] the heads of the {families} of the Levites according to their genealogies, leaders. These lived in Jerusalem.

and not to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which cause useless speculations rather than God's plan [that is] by faith.

But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and contentions and quarrels about the law, for they are useless and fruitless.
