'Good' in the Bible

Learn to do good;Seek justice,Reprove the ruthless,Defend the orphan,Plead for the widow.

He dug it all around, removed its stones,And planted it with the choicest vine.And He built a tower in the middle of itAnd also hewed out a wine vat in it;Then He expected it to produce good grapes,But it produced only worthless ones.

“What more was there to do for My vineyard that I have not done in it?Why, when I expected it to produce good grapes did it produce worthless ones?

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

He will eat curds and honey at the time He knows enough to refuse evil and choose good.

For before the boy will know enough to refuse evil and choose good, the land whose two kings you dread will be forsaken.

and said, “Remember now, O Lord, I beseech You, how I have walked before You in truth and with a whole heart, and have done what is good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “The word of the Lord which you have spoken is good.” For he thought, “For there will be peace and truth in my days.”

Get yourself up on a high mountain,O Zion, bearer of good news,Lift up your voice mightily,O Jerusalem, bearer of good news;Lift it up, do not fear.Say to the cities of Judah,“Here is your God!”

So the craftsman encourages the smelter,And he who smooths metal with the hammer encourages him who beats the anvil,Saying of the soldering, “It is good”;And he fastens it with nails,So that it will not totter.

Declare the things that are going to come afterward,That we may know that you are gods;Indeed, do good or evil, that we may anxiously look about us and fear together.

“Formerly I said to Zion, ‘Behold, here they are.’And to Jerusalem, ‘I will give a messenger of good news.’

Declaring the end from the beginning,And from ancient times things which have not been done,Saying, ‘My purpose will be established,And I will accomplish all My good pleasure’;

“Assemble, all of you, and listen!Who among them has declared these things?The Lord loves him; he will carry out His good pleasure on Babylon,And His arm will be against the Chaldeans.

How lovely on the mountainsAre the feet of him who brings good news,Who announces peaceAnd brings good news of happiness,Who announces salvation,And says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”

But the Lord was pleasedTo crush Him, putting Him to grief;If He would render Himself as a guilt offering,He will see His offspring,He will prolong His days,And the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand.

“Why do you spend money for what is not bread,And your wages for what does not satisfy?Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,And delight yourself in abundance.

“A multitude of camels will cover you,The young camels of Midian and Ephah;All those from Sheba will come;They will bring gold and frankincense,And will bear good news of the praises of the Lord.

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,Because the Lord has anointed meTo bring good news to the afflicted;He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,To proclaim liberty to captivesAnd freedom to prisoners;

“I have spread out My hands all day long to a rebellious people,Who walk in the way which is not good, following their own thoughts,
