'Groom' in the Bible
It is like a groom coming from the bridal chamber;it rejoices like an athlete running a course.
Jesus said to them, “Can the wedding guests be sad while the groom is with them? The time will come when the groom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.
“Then the kingdom of heaven will be like 10 virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the groom.
Since the groom was delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
“In the middle of the night there was a shout: ‘Here’s the groom! Come out to meet him.’
“When they had gone to buy some, the groom arrived. Then those who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet, and the door was shut.
Jesus said to them, “The wedding guests cannot fast while the groom is with them, can they? As long as they have the groom with them, they cannot fast.
But the time will come when the groom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day.
Jesus said to them, “You can’t make the wedding guests fast while the groom is with them, can you?
But the time will come when the groom will be taken away from them—then they will fast in those days.”
When the chief servant tasted the water (after it had become wine), he did not know where it came from—though the servants who had drawn the water knew. He called the groom
He who has the bride is the groom. But the groom’s friend, who stands by and listens for him, rejoices greatly at the groom’s voice. So this joy of mine is complete.
