'Impelled' in the Bible
Immediately the Spirit *impelled Him to go out into the wilderness.
For already He had been commanding the foul spirit to come out of the man. For many a time it had seized and held him, and they had repeatedly put him in chains and fetters and kept guard over him, but he used to break the chains to pieces, and, impelled by the demon, to escape into the Desert.
I have a baptism [of great suffering] with which to be baptized, and how [greatly] I am distressed until it is accomplished!
"And now, impelled by a sense of duty, I am on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there,
for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I was compelled to write to you [urgently] appealing that you fight strenuously for [the defense of] the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints [the faith that is the sum of Christian belief that was given verbally to believers].
