When I became embitteredand my innermost being was wounded,

A gossip’s words are like choice foodthat goes down to one’s innermost being.

The Lord’s lamp sheds light on a person’s life,searching the innermost parts.

Lashes and wounds purge away evil,and beatings cleanse the innermost parts. >

My innermost being will cheerwhen your lips say what is right.
