'Kingdoms' in the Bible
“As my hand has reached to the kingdoms of the idols,Whose graven images were greater than those of Jerusalem and Samaria,
A sound of tumult on the mountains,Like that of many people!A sound of the uproar of kingdoms,Of nations gathered together!The Lord of hosts is mustering the army for battle.
And Babylon, the beauty of kingdoms, the glory of the Chaldeans’ pride,Will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
“Those who see you will gaze at you,They will ponder over you, saying,‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble,Who shook kingdoms,
He has stretched His hand out over the sea,He has made the kingdoms tremble;The Lord has given a command concerning Canaan to demolish its strongholds.
It will come about at the end of seventy years that the Lord will visit Tyre. Then she will go back to her harlot’s wages and will play the harlot with all the kingdoms on the face of the earth.
“O Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, who is enthroned above the cherubim, You are the God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.
Now, O Lord our God, deliver us from his hand that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You alone, Lord, are God.”
“Sit silently, and go into darkness,O daughter of the Chaldeans,For you will no longer be calledThe queen of kingdoms.
