'Kiss' in the Bible
Then his father Isaac said to him, “Please come close and kiss me, my son.”
and did not allow me to kiss my sons and my daughters? Now you have done foolishly.
And when a man came near to prostrate himself before him, he would put out his hand and take hold of him and kiss him.
Joab said to Amasa, “Is it well with you, my brother?” And Joab took Amasa by the beard with his right hand to kiss him.
He left the oxen and ran after Elijah and said, “Please let me kiss my father and my mother, then I will follow you.” And he said to him, “Go back again, for what have I done to you?”
And my heart became secretly enticed,And my hand threw a kiss from my mouth,
“May he kiss me with the kisses of his mouth!For your love is better than wine.
“Oh that you were like a brother to meWho nursed at my mother’s breasts.If I found you outdoors, I would kiss you;No one would despise me, either.
And now they sin more and more,And make for themselves molten images,Idols skillfully made from their silver,All of them the work of craftsmen.They say of them, “Let the men who sacrifice kiss the calves!”
Now he who was betraying Him gave them a sign, saying, “Whomever I kiss, He is the one; seize Him.”
Now he who was betraying Him had given them a signal, saying, “Whomever I kiss, He is the one; seize Him and lead Him away under guard.”
You gave Me no kiss; but she, since the time I came in, has not ceased to kiss My feet.
While He was still speaking, behold, a crowd came, and the one called Judas, one of the twelve, was preceding them; and he approached Jesus to kiss Him.
But Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”
Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you.
All the brethren greet you. Greet one another with a holy kiss.
Greet one another with a kiss of love.Peace be to you all who are in Christ.
