'Lay' in the Bible
Let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it;And let him trample my life down to the groundAnd lay my glory in the dust. Selah.
My strength is dried up like a potsherd,And my tongue cleaves to my jaws; And You lay me in the dust of death.
Those who seek my life lay snares for me;And those who seek to injure me have threatened destruction,And they devise treachery all day long.
You brought us into the net;You laid an oppressive burden upon our loins.
The bird also has found a house,And the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young,Even Your altars, O Lord of hosts,My King and my God.
Even there Your hand will lead me,And Your right hand will lay hold of me.
