'Lay' in the Bible

Lay siege to it! Build siege works against it. Erect a siege ramp against it! Post soldiers outside it and station battering rams around it.

"'I passed by you and saw you kicking around helplessly in your blood. I said to you as you lay there in your blood, "Live!" I said to you as you lay there in your blood, "Live!"

and say: "'What a lioness was your mother among the lions! She lay among young lions; she reared her cubs.

I will lay waste your cities; and you will become desolate. Then you will know that I am the Lord!
