'Lead' in the Bible
When Pharaoh released the people, God did not lead them by the way to the land of the Philistines, although that was nearby, for God said, "Lest the people change their minds and return to Egypt when they experience war."
Now the Lord was going before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them in the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel day or night.
But you blew with your breath, and the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.
By your loyal love you will lead the people whom you have redeemed; you will guide them by your strength to your holy dwelling place.
So now go, lead the people to the place I have spoken to you about. See, my angel will go before you. But on the day that I punish, I will indeed punish them for their sin."
