'Meditate' in the Bible

Why are the nations in an uproar [in turmoil against God],And why do the people devise a vain and hopeless plot?

One thing I have asked of the Lord, and that I will seek:That I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life,To gaze upon the beauty [the delightful loveliness and majestic grandeur] of the LordAnd to meditate in His temple.

Those who seek my life lay snares for me,And those who seek to injure me threaten mischievous things and destruction;They devise treachery all the day long.

When I remember You on my bed,I meditate and thoughtfully focus on You in the night watches,

I will remember my song in the night;I will meditate with my heart,And my spirit searches:

I will meditate on all Your worksAnd thoughtfully consider all Your [great and wondrous] deeds.

Sing to Him, sing praises to Him;Speak of all His wonderful acts and devoutly praise them.

I will meditate on Your preceptsAnd [thoughtfully] regard Your ways [the path of life established by Your precepts].

Make me understand the way of Your precepts,So that I will meditate (focus my thoughts) on Your wonderful works.

And I shall lift up my hands to Your commandments,Which I love;And I will meditate on Your statutes.

Let the arrogant be ashamed and humiliated, for they sabotage me with a lie;But I will meditate on Your precepts.

My eyes anticipate the night watches and I awake before the call of the watchman,That I may meditate on Your word.

I remember the days of old;I meditate on all that You have done;I ponder the work of Your hands.

On the glorious splendor of Your majestyAnd on Your wonderful works, I will meditate.
