'Mercy' in the Bible
For He tells Moses:I will show mercyto whom I will show mercy, and I will have compassionon whom I will have compassion.
So then it does not depend on human will or effort but on God who shows mercy.
So then, He shows mercy to those He wants to, and He hardens those He wants to harden.
And what if He did this to make known the riches of His glory on objects of mercy that He prepared beforehand for glory—
As you once disobeyed God, but now have received mercy through their disobedience,
so they too have now disobeyed, resulting in mercy to you, so that they also now may receive mercy.
For God has imprisoned all in disobedience, so that He may have mercy on all.
if exhorting, in exhortation;giving, with generosity;leading, with diligence;showing mercy, with cheerfulness.
and so that Gentiles may glorify God for His mercy. As it is written:Therefore I will praise You among the Gentiles, and I will sing psalms to Your name.
