'Nothing' in the Bible
From the sole of the foot even to the headThere is nothing sound in it,Only bruises, welts and raw wounds,Not pressed out or bandaged,Nor softened with oil.
Nothing remains but to crouch among the captivesOr fall among the slain.In spite of all this, His anger does not turn awayAnd His hand is still stretched out.
Its nobles—there is no one thereWhom they may proclaim king—And all its princes will be nothing.
Hezekiah was pleased, and showed them all his treasure house, the silver and the gold and the spices and the precious oil and his whole armory and all that was found in his treasuries. There was nothing in his house nor in all his dominion that Hezekiah did not show them.
He said, “What have they seen in your house?” So Hezekiah answered, “They have seen all that is in my house; there is nothing among my treasuries that I have not shown them.”
‘Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house and all that your fathers have laid up in store to this day will be carried to Babylon; nothing will be left,’ says the Lord.
All the nations are as nothing before Him,They are regarded by Him as less than nothing and meaningless.
He it is who reduces rulers to nothing,Who makes the judges of the earth meaningless.
“Behold, all those who are angered at you will be shamed and dishonored;Those who contend with you will be as nothing and will perish.
“You will seek those who quarrel with you, but will not find them,Those who war with you will be as nothing and non-existent.
Behold, you are of no account,And your work amounts to nothing;He who chooses you is an abomination.
But I said, “I have toiled in vain,I have spent My strength for nothing and vanity;Yet surely the justice due to Me is with the Lord,And My reward with My God.”
For thus says the Lord, “You were sold for nothing and you will be redeemed without money.”
Depart, depart, go out from there,Touch nothing unclean;Go out of the midst of her, purify yourselves,You who carry the vessels of the Lord.
His watchmen are blind,All of them know nothing.All of them are mute dogs unable to bark,Dreamers lying down, who love to slumber;
