'Numbering' in the Bible

These are the families (clans) of the sons of Gad according to those who were numbered, 40,500.

These are the families (clans) of Judah according to those who were numbered, 76,500.

These are the families (clans) of Issachar according to those who were numbered, 64,300.

These are the families (clans) of the Zebulunites according to those who were numbered, 60,500.

And Joab gave the sum of the census of the people to the king. In Israel there were 800,000 valiant men who drew the sword, and the men of Judah were 500,000.

This is the list of the sons (descendants) of Israel, the heads of fathers’ households, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and their officers who served the king in all matters of the divisions which came in and went out month by month throughout the year, each division numbering 24,000:
