'Officers' in the Bible

The shields of his soldiers [of Media and Babylon] are colored red;The warriors are dressed in scarlet.The chariots blaze with fire of [flashing] steelWhen he is prepared to march,And the cypress spears are brandished [for battle].

He gives orders to his officers;they stumble as they advance.They race to its wall;the protective shield is set in place.

Yet she became an exile;She went into captivity.Her young children were dashed to piecesAt the head of every street;They cast lots for her honorable men,And all her great men were bound with chains.
