'Oppressors' in the Bible
I delivered you from the hands of the Egyptians and from the hands of all your oppressors, and dispossessed them before you and gave you their land,
“Therefore You delivered them into the hand of their oppressors who oppressed them,But when they cried to You in the time of their distress,You heard from heaven, and according to Your great compassionYou gave them deliverers who delivered them from the hand of their oppressors.
Ayin.I have done justice and righteousness;Do not leave me to my oppressors.
Then I looked again at all the acts of oppression which were being done under the sun. And behold I saw the tears of the oppressed and that they had no one to comfort them; and on the side of their oppressors was power, but they had no one to comfort them.
O My people! Their oppressors are children,And women rule over them.O My people! Those who guide you lead you astrayAnd confuse the direction of your paths.
The peoples will take them along and bring them to their place, and the house of Israel will possess them as an inheritance in the land of the Lord as male servants and female servants; and they will take their captors captive and will rule over their oppressors.
“Let the outcasts of Moab stay with you;Be a hiding place to them from the destroyer.”For the extortioner has come to an end, destruction has ceased,Oppressors have completely disappeared from the land.
It will become a sign and a witness to the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the Lord because of oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Champion, and He will deliver them.
“I will feed your oppressors with their own flesh,And they will become drunk with their own blood as with sweet wine;And all flesh will know that I, the Lord, am your SaviorAnd your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”
‘Their children also will be as formerly,And their congregation shall be established before Me;And I will punish all their oppressors.
“Behold, I am going to deal at that timeWith all your oppressors,I will save the lameAnd gather the outcast,And I will turn their shame into praise and renownIn all the earth.
