'Overwhelming' in the Bible

For even if your people of Israel number as many as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will return. Overwhelming, righteous destruction is decreed,

For you said, “We have cut a deal with Death,and we have made an agreement with Sheol;when the overwhelming scourge passes through,it will not touch us,because we have made falsehood our refugeand have hidden behind treachery.”

Your deal with Death will be dissolved,and your agreement with Sheol will not last.When the overwhelming scourge passes through,you will be trampled.

For the Lord has poured out on youan overwhelming urge to sleep;He has shut your eyes—the prophets,and covered your heads—the seers.
