'Panic' in the Bible
He shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel, you are approaching the battle against your enemies today. Do not be fainthearted. Do not be afraid, or panic, or tremble before them,
Panic seized them there,Anguish, as of a woman in childbirth.
For the Lord God of hosts has a day of panic, subjugation and confusionIn the valley of vision,A breaking down of wallsAnd a crying to the mountain.
“His rock will pass away because of panic,And his princes will be terrified at the standard,”Declares the Lord, whose fire is in Zion and whose furnace is in Jerusalem.
“Damascus has become helpless;She has turned away to flee,And panic has gripped her;Distress and pangs have taken hold of herLike a woman in childbirth.
Panic and pitfall have befallen us,Devastation and destruction;
It will come about in that day that a great panic from the Lord will fall on them; and they will seize one another’s hand, and the hand of one will be lifted against the hand of another.
