'Partiality' in the Bible
Do not show partiality when deciding a case; listen to small and great alike. Do not be intimidated by anyone, for judgment belongs to God. Bring me any case too difficult for you, and I will hear it.
For the Lord your God is the God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, mighty, and awesome God, showing no partiality and taking no bribe.
Do not deny justice or show partiality to anyone. Do not accept a bribe, for it blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.
And now, may the terror of the Lord be on you. Watch what you do, for there is no injustice or partiality or taking bribes with the Lord our God.”
Surely He would rebuke youif you secretly showed partiality.
“How long will you judge unjustlyand show partiality to the wicked?Selah
It is not good to show partiality to the guiltyby perverting the justice due the innocent.
These sayings also belong to the wise:It is not good to show partiality in judgment.
It is not good to show partiality—yet a man may sin for a piece of bread.
“So I in turn have made you despised and humiliated before all the people because you are not keeping My ways but are showing partiality in your instruction.”
