'Plagues' in the Bible
By these three plagues a third of humanity was killed--by the fire and the smoke and the sulphur that came out of their mouths.
And the rest of humanity who were not killed by these plagues did not repent of the works of their hands, {in order not to worship} the demons and the gold and silver and bronze and stone and wooden idols, which are able neither to see nor to hear nor to walk,
And I saw another great and marvelous sign in heaven: seven angels having seven plagues [that are] the last [ones], because with them the wrath of God is completed.
and the seven angels who had the seven plagues came out from the temple, dressed [in] clean, bright linen garments, and girded with golden belts around their chests.
and the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from his power, and no one was able to enter into the temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed.
And people were burned up [by the] great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has the authority over these plagues, and they did not repent to give him glory.
And I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out from her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins, and so that you will not receive her plagues,
Because of this her plagues will come in one day-- death and mourning and famine-- and she will be burned up with fire, because the Lord God who passes judgment on her [is] powerful!"
And one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and spoke with me, saying, "Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb."
I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues written in this book.
