'Received' in the Bible
Now as Jesus was returning [to Galilee], the people welcomed Him, for they had all been expecting Him.
Now when the time was approaching for Him to be taken up [to heaven], He was determined to go to Jerusalem [to fulfill His purpose].
Now while they were on their way, Jesus entered a village [called Bethany], and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home.
And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has received him back safe and sound.’
But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things [all the comforts and delights], and Lazarus likewise bad things [all the discomforts and distresses]; but now he is comforted here [in paradise], while you are in severe agony.
Immediately he regained his sight and began following Jesus, glorifying and praising and honoring God. And all the people, when they saw it, praised God.
So Zaccheus hurried and came down, and welcomed Jesus with joy.
When he returned, after receiving the kingdom, he ordered that these servants, to whom he had given the money, be called to him, that he might find out what business they had done.
