'Remain' in the Bible

Though a tenth will remain in the land,it will be burned again.Like the terebinth or the oakthat leaves a stump when felled,the holy seed is the stump.

Therefore Jacob’s iniquity will be purged in this way,and the result of the removal of his sin will be this:when he makes all the altar stoneslike crushed bits of chalk,no Asherah poles or incense altars will remain standing.

One thousand will flee at the threat of one,at the threat of five you will flee,until you alone remainlike a solitary pole on a mountaintopor a banner on a hill.

You welcome the one who joyfully does what is right;they remember You in Your ways.But we have sinned, and You were angry.How can we be saved if we remain in our sins?
