O sons of men, how long will my honor become a reproach?How long will you love what is worthless and aim at deception? Selah.
He does not slander with his tongue,Nor does evil to his neighbor,Nor takes up a reproach against his friend;
But I am a worm and not a man,A reproach of men and despised by the people.
Because of all my adversaries, I have become a reproach,Especially to my neighbors,And an object of dread to my acquaintances;Those who see me in the street flee from me.
“Deliver me from all my transgressions;Make me not the reproach of the foolish.
You make us a reproach to our neighbors,A scoffing and a derision to those around us.
Because for Your sake I have borne reproach;Dishonor has covered my face.
For zeal for Your house has consumed me,And the reproaches of those who reproach You have fallen on me.

And return to our neighbors sevenfold into their bosomThe reproach with which they have reproached You, O Lord.

Take away reproach and contempt from me,For I observe Your testimonies.
