'Saving' in the Bible
Please listen, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have magnified your lovingkindness (mercy) to me by saving my life; but I cannot escape to the mountains, because the disaster will overtake me and I will be killed.
Jonathan said to his young armor bearer, “Come, let us cross over to the garrison of these uncircumcised men; it may be that the Lord will work for us. For there is nothing to prevent the Lord from saving, whether by many or by few.”
That I may tell aloud all Your praises,That in the gates of the daughter of Zion (Jerusalem)I may rejoice in Your salvation and Your help.
Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed;He will answer him from His holy heavenWith the saving strength of His right hand.
That Your way may be known on earth,Your salvation and deliverance among all nations.
“My people, remember nowWhat Balak king of Moab devised [with his evil plan against Israel]And what Balaam the son of Beor answered him [turning the curse into blessing for Israel],[Remember what the Lord did for you] from Shittim to Gilgal,So that you may know the righteous and saving acts [displaying the power] of the Lord.”
