'Spurned' in the Bible

Why has the wicked spurned God?He has said to himself, “You will not require it.”

Remember this, O Lord, that the enemy has reviled,And a foolish people has spurned Your name.

But You have spurned and rejected him;You have become enraged with Your anointed.

You have spurned the covenant of Your servant;You have profaned his crown in the dust.

Then they despised the pleasant land [of Canaan];They did not believe in His word nor rely on it,

Because they had rebelled against the words of GodAnd spurned the counsel of the Most High.
