'Stricken' in the Bible

For I have been stricken all day longAnd chastened every morning.

Where will you be stricken again,As you continue in your rebellion?The whole head is sickAnd the whole heart is faint.

Therefore Moab will wail; everyone of Moab will wail.You will moan for the raisin cakes of Kir-haresethAs those who are utterly stricken.

Surely our griefs He Himself bore,And our sorrows He carried;Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken,Smitten of God, and afflicted.

Have You completely rejected Judah?Or have You loathed Zion?Why have You stricken us so that we are beyond healing?We waited for peace, but nothing good came;And for a time of healing, but behold, terror!

Better are those slain with the swordThan those slain with hunger;For they pine away, being strickenFor lack of the fruits of the field.

Ephraim is stricken, their root is dried up,They will bear no fruit.Even though they bear children,I will slay the precious ones of their womb.
