'Vapor' in the Bible
but a mist (fog, dew, vapor) used to rise from the land and water the entire surface of the ground—
“For He draws up the drops of water,They distill rain from the mist,
Acquiring treasures by a lying tongueIs a fleeting vapor, the seeking and pursuit of death.
“Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher.“Vanity of vanities! All [that is done without God’s guidance] is vanity [futile, meaningless—a wisp of smoke, a vapor that vanishes, merely chasing the wind].”

Yet you do not know [the least thing] about what may happen in your life tomorrow. [What is secure in your life?] You are merely a vapor [like a puff of smoke or a wisp of steam from a cooking pot] that is visible for a little while and then vanishes [into thin air].
